IPod video is the fifth generation of full sized iPods introduced 4 years after the original 5GB iPod that started it all.

The latest 5g 60GB iPod is thinner than the 4g 20GB iPod. The larger widescreen color display of the 5th generation iPod dominates. In front of 5g, previously perfectly sized iPod display looks tiny. As compared to the old iPod, the huge display of iPod 5 at first looks too large for the text, but it quickly becomes normal.

  • It also has a camera. The camera is based on face recognition which has head position tracking system. Camera is located on the back of the device along with a microphone.
  • IPod 5g uses USB for syncing. The most important feature of iPod touch 5g is that it has a new 3D display which doesn’t require any 3D glasses from user.

Original iPod 5 OS and sync is MAC10.3 and WIN2000. Battery life for 30GB audio is14 hours ,where recharging requires 5 hours to get back to fully loaded and battery life for video is 2 hours, whereas for 60/80GB its 20 hours and 3/6.5 hours respectively.

An iPod 5 is still the safe bet and will work as a good gift.
